Kelly realized, after teaching asana for many years, that there was a need to focus on limitations and strengths of her students and practitioners.
Particularly, in the modern world, with the traditions of yoga being practiced worldwide, Kelly saw a large gap between traditional teachings and the modern understanding of each individual’s unique physiology.
Her approach to anatomy is thus based on cases by case studies, and how teachers can accommodate their students. Kelly is vehemently against a one size fits all template. She understands the need to work with students as individuals with unique body compositions. Kelly focuses on human variation and the importance of understanding these concepts as it applies to teaching. She is warm, outgoing, and always willing to go above and beyond for her students. Her ability to construct and explain her ideas is rooted in
A deep understanding of bone structures, muscles, and the mind-body connection.Kelly is equally exceptional in delivering concise and engaging philosophy lectures.
She manages the vast material covered in the yoga sutras of Patanjali, and breaks it up in to digestible pieces. Her classes allow room for discussion and her use of anecdotal accounts add depth to her explanations. It is clear through her ability to engage with the teachings that she is a devoted practitioner. This dedication is infectious and provides a fantastic environment for learning.
